We have to stop looking for binary or simple solutions to this conundrum. It’s myriad and complex. It’s not just the players and not just the manager. But there is a failure to keep an eye on the playing side, because of a need to focus on the development of the infrastructure.
Blame is too simple. Scapegoating is too simple. The truth is deeper and more complicated. ENIC have HAD to focus all their energies on the growth of the assets of the club. But it’s come at this cost. We’ve take our eye off the paying side and now playing catch-up.
We got so lucky with Poch. He was the prefect fit for this transition. But the transition isn’t over. Mourinho Or someone like that might’ve been the ‘answer’ if we were the finished article. We’re not. We still needed a manager who could make silk hats out of sow’s ears.
This interview seems increasingly prescient...& that’s not to say we didn’t already know this. Our fans are generally informed enough to realise.
This said, we have never been in a better position to come good. It just needs time, money &patience. One of these is in short supply

Apologies for the typos. But hopefully you get the gist.
So, we have a difficult choice. I don’t see these players are uncoachable, but this manager isn’t the turd polisher we need for them. If we are to persist with Jose, playing style set aside, he needs the sort of player investment we have never afforded any manager.
I doubt we’ll back him to the level he needs. I hope I’m wrong, but I suspect the cheaper option than a huge squad overhaul was the gamble that Jose would turn this lot into winners. He may have even promised this. Now Levy has a huge dilemma on his hands. Back him or sack him.
