After watching a gender idealist, I think I understand where the disconnect is. They have completely disassociated themselves from the physical reality of their bodies as well as the realities of language and society. /1
Everything was about ‘identity’. Male and female are ‘identities’, not sexes. “A female person isn’t female they are non-binary.” What?
It’s like biology plays no role in their life. They don’t have a body. They don’t have a sex. They are only this nebulous ‘identity’. /2

Language was similarly disembodied. “Of course whatever gender we say we are is what we are. All words are made up.” But words only have meaning if we SHARE the same understanding. /3
Remember the Smurfs? They used ‘smurf’ in place of words. Let’s use it. “Go to the smurf and pick up smurf.” Now tell me what I just said. /3
And see now we’ve run into a problem. You have all these words that now hold different and sometimes conflicting meanings for people. You even have words that may only hold meaning for 1 person. Talk about confusing. /4
How do you function in society without shared meaning? How can you create policies? The fact is that you can’t. You want ‘man’ and ‘woman’ to be “gendered” terms? Then what locker room do the people who are not men and women use, because certainly they shouldn’t use those. /5
