A few thoughts on today's game.

Ireland have developed a great strength in depth in the tight five but I think it's time to start Kelleher.

CJ is just unreal but Ireland have to get more heavy carriers to support him. Sending Coombes home looks stranger every day.
If Ryan is back then maybe moving Beirne to 6 and Henderson to the second row can achieve the balance between lineout and carriers.

I'd like to see Connors start at 7. Leinster use him as a low tackler in an arrowhead formation.
With CJ and or Beirne trailing him slightly behind on either side it could create so many jackal opportunities.

JGP had a mixed day. Some good but was caught badly defensively. Not bringing Casey on to further up the tempo was a strange call.
In other strange sub calls, Larmour for Earls? Keeping a winger on just to use his kicking shows Ireland current attacking ambition.

Keenan is really growing into a class act at full back. I'm a huge fan of the change in Irelands attacking intent from transition ball.
Ireland are playing a limited game in attack but Henshaw was once again excellent in all that was asked of him. Like CJ he'll carry hard all day long has more in his locker than just bosh.
Burns did really well and showed that Ireland have been missing a spark in attack. It was obvious when he went off what was missing. I don't want to pick on a player but I thought Ross Byrne once again sat very very deep and didn't offer a hint of a threat with ball in hand.
Ireland went side to side but it was deep with no go forward, Henshaw apart, and easy for the drift defence to deal with.
Ireland got into the middle third of the pitch and there is a tactical ploy to kick up and unders into the opposition 22.
Why oh why would you do that. They are not contestables and the majority of time the full back calls a mark and clears to touch.
It's like watching a 1990s Ireland team.
