As Founder & CEO of @trygettacar, but more importantly as an American deeply committed to giving back to society, I couldn’t be prouder.
2/ I grew up working with my immigrant father at his used car lot in Philadelphia.

Our process wasn’t fancy. We’d buy a car, refurbish it, sell it, and repeat. At the time, the goal was simple – we needed to put food on the table and this was the way to do it.
3/ By the age of 18, I became very involved in the day-to-day operations. We were a small, scrappy team of 8 people. There were no titles or even formal job descriptions. Everyone just sort of knew what they needed to do.
4/ As the years went by, the business flourished. In 2015, I took over as President and assumed leadership of the dealership. We were a much more organized team of 25 people and growing. Customers were coming from far and wide just to buy a car from us.
5/ We were building something special. We were building a brand. We were truly revolutionizing something as old as sliced bread - car buying!
6/ But something didn’t feel right.

No matter how much our business grew and flourished, we weren’t living up to our potential. I knew that we could do better.
7/ Candidly, I didn’t know much at the time – but what I did know was the way people were buying and owning cars needed to change.
8/ I knew people hated sitting inside a dealership for hours.

I knew people hated unfair pricing strategies.

I knew people hated sleazy salesmen.

And I knew people worried about the costs and aggravation associated with repairing and maintaining their cars.
9/ Buying and owning a car frequently resulted in massive amounts of lost time and monetary costs that people couldn’t afford – I knew we had to fix this problem.
10/ In 2018, we introduced fairness, honesty, transparency and convenience.

In 2018, we introduced an ecommerce platform for buying, trading and financing used cars.

In 2018, we introduced Gettacar.
11/ Today – exactly 1,068 days since Gettacar’s birth – I’m thrilled to announce the next milestone on our quest towards creating the best car buying & ownership experience for everyone: Gettacar Guarantee.

It’s a major investment for us. We will make less money per car but profitability is not our only priority.
