The damage done by Exodus Cry to the porn industry and consensual sex workers through the #traffickinghub campaign is DEEP. Every time I see civilians talk about porn now, someone brings up misinformation about pornhub and how weâre all drugged and trafficked or something.

For those of you who donât know, YES PornHub is a shitty corporation that has allowed SOME abusive content. But reports show FAR MORE content like that on Instagram, Facebook, and twitter. But nobody is going after them
The GOAL of the #traffickhub campaign and of @ExodusCry is to eliminate sex work by criminalizing it. But criminalizing sex work only means we have less power as workers to make our jobs safe
When backpage was removed for similar reasons, a study in California saw a spike in murders against women across the board. It made condomless FFSW more frequent and pimps had more power. When you criminalize us and take away safe work avenues, you make trafficking MORE LIKELY
For example, people were making money on PH that canât anymore. They just lost income. Where will they go now? Maybe they will have to do sex work they donât want to do or for less safe companies or they will just not be able to pay their bills
If you want to make our industry safer, ask US what WE WANT! Because we have plenty of requests!
We want to be able to bank without fear of our accounts being removed. We want to brothel workers to gain employment status so they can form unions. We want sex work DECRIMINALIZED so that sex trafficking victims stop going to PRISON. There are underage girls in JAIL for this!!
We want to be able to go to authorities about abuse without being dismissed and told to find another job. We want better healthcare and social welfare programs so people donât feel economically FORCED to do this job
We want to be taken seriously in public discourse and not silenced and shadow banned on platforms. We want to be heard, not some journalist or activist who has never done this job and has no idea what our work is actually like
