Usually, by the time a long-standing book series winds down, both the author and publisher are feeling ready to move on to other projects. But readers? Readers are another story.... (thread)
Book 12 in my Ranger in Time series with @Scholastic, Attack on Pearl Harbor, is going to be the final book in the series, at least for now. But I've been getting notes from kids who are used to having a new Ranger book every six months, and they are not pleased with this news.
One girl just sent me a lengthy email with SEVENTEEN IDEAS for more books in the series. She wrapped up by saying, " I hope I didn't overwhelm you with all of these ideas. Just wanted to help out in case if you got writers block or can't focus because of this worldwide epidemic."
The truth is, it HAS sometimes been tough for authors to focus during the pandemic. I love that this kiddo thought that might be the reason her next Ranger book hadn't shown up on time and wanted to help.
