Nah, it's taking genuine criticism/concern over issues and acting like 2 seagulls fighting in a parking lot over a french fry desperate for some place in a new hierarchy or order by being more petty than your former counterparts. https://twitter.com/emilylhauser/status/1361363646706761736
Issue: Some people aren't treated well. This is a problem.
Petty concern for relevance: Acshuwalllylu having to park and go into the bank is rooted in racism!11

Issue: Transgender people are often afraid that they can't go into the bathroom of their bio sex, but also are worried about the cops being called on them for not passing in the bathroom of their choice.

When someone says "it's just about politeness" that is one of the most sinister things imaginable. Politeness is cultural and subjective. And they know it. Ironically expecting another culture to automatically know and respect your version on politeness is pretty offensive.
For example in Canada it has always been really offensive to say the word "Goof" (means you touch kids and get beat up in jail) but I don't immediately start shrieking when I go to the US and people are saying "Goof" or "Goofy"
The solution here is to listen to growing concerns from a community, without the underlying threat of violence. Positive interactions between groups fosters trust, forcibly negative interactions using emotional blackmail fosters violence. You know what you're doing.
