Logan suggested I should take a stab at this so here we go although I think @GondorffShaw could bury this thread with one or two well-timed flex pics

Disclaimer: This isn't financial advice, just general guidelines I implement when it comes to spending $ for life maxing https://twitter.com/thedulab/status/1361487678059945984
"Spending money not on items but experiences"

is almost a cliche now since Insta travel chicks & soys adopted and bastardized the original concept from men like myself n @ASanguis

This will be about spending $ to truly live life as opposed to numbing yourself with pleasure
I will be covering

1. Non-negotiables
2. Avoiding mid-tier shit
3. Diversity Vs Depth of experience and what falls under which
4. How to appropriately spend money on chix
5. Avoiding pleasure for the sake of pleasure (which is decadence)
#1 Non-negotiables

Anything that goes on or into your body (along with who you get into) should be of the highest quality that you can afford. Food and clothing in specific

Same goes with utensils etc

High quality durable items have never been more affordable in human history
Buy shoes, denim and leather jackets from craftsmen for example.

They still have fantastic workshops that produce things that will last a lifetime across Europe and in Japan.

These are not brand names but speakeasy typa spots that put heart n soul into their products.
Japanese custom made Selvedge Jeans - $400 a piece. These get better as you keep wearing them

Handmade Oxfords from a 140 year old shoemaker - 375 quid

Bronze cutlery - $85 ... lasts a lifetime. Aesthetic. Could also use copper but don't use copper for anything acidic
The point here is not to flex or to "save money over the long term because quality dont break". Although u do save & people notice

But its more meta than that

It is hard to act like a low quality human being when youre around & clad in high quality stuff and paid dearly for it
#2 Avoiding mid-tier shit

Best food is either from street stands or from high-end restaurants

Mid tier shit fucks you both ways. You waste your money and don't get a quality experience

Same goes with cars. I see 0 point in spending 25k on mediocrity

Under 7 k or over 70k
Now there are obviously some exceptions when it comes to entry level luxury.

Flying Emirates Business Class for example.

Something I think that every guy should do like once in his 20s on a long international flight.

It is an experience that leaves you fulfilled.
Another thing is with dining. I usually prep 90% of my meals at home.

On very busy days maybe some cheap yet Grade A tasting food from some food stand.

Once every month or two a Michelin star restaurant or truly special historical kinda spot.
You will often find that a lot of high-end experiences that regular people consider the zenith of luxury and thing to be envied with a huge barrier of entry are actually quite affordable

Let me give you some examples.
In Beijing,

there is this Peking Roast Duck restaurant in Qianmen called Quan Ju De which has been operating since the 1850s

Historical spot associated with China's power brokers, state banquets and the Chinese Communist Party

Hosted Richard Nixon, Pol Pot & Soviet Diplomats
It has lost a bit of its former prestige now but is still a fantastic spot.

You pay 500 RMB for one duck which is what ... $70?

$70 to sit and eat in the same room Fidel Castro has dined in and experience a small part of history.

Worth it.
In Shanghai,

there is this restaurant Le Atelier by Joel Robuchon. 2 Michelin stars

Prep your meals every day at home for like 7 weeks & on the 8th week, make a reservation, tell ur girl to doll up & slap on her best dress & blow her mind away

Total cost like $350 for two
The point is most would be able to afford intermittent cool shit and quality items and experiences if they stopped engaging in mid-tier shit.
