It's been enough time now that most people have seen it, so I figured I'd have a late night thread about Blueprints real quick.

If you haven't seen it, here it is again. despite some things I will still stand by it as something worth at least skimming:
So, like I said in the previous one, I feel like the goal was accomplished to an acceptable degree. There were tons of cool reveals, and I do think that there was at least *something* for everyone.

However, I do understand there were a lot of improvements needed for next time.
The biggest issues were that trailers dragged on too long, and the overall event was a bit too much for one sitting. A lot of stuff that would have been a little "ah, neat" moment became a problem when it took up three minutes in an event that already took two hours.
I do want to say not to be annoyed or agressive towards any of the creators that submitted overly long trailers. I accepted them, and it was my decision to include them. That said, I'll be making steps to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to share, but there's more control.
With the next one, everyone will have two minutes per trailer flat, and two trailers total. While this may be a very strict time constraint, this encourages people to use their time to make teasers and promote their own presentations, instead of trying to fit it all in one.
While I'll still be editing everything solo, I'll put together a small presentation team that will be able to give feedback on items submitted early. Due to this, trailers will be rejected for more reasons, including pacing concerns.
Cut trailers can still be part of the clips.
Probably the most controversial decision, I will be splitting the next one up into two parts if the length is significantly over an hour. I noticed that's about when people get burnt out, and I think that'll help keep things paced better.
Overall, if you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. For now, I'll be focusing on smaller videos for a bit, and I'll have new and improved events to support the community in the summer and fall. I hope you look forward to it!
