Quitting teaching to become a comedian, getting on tv, and finally making enough money to start paying off your loans isn’t a scaleable national plan, but cancelling student loan debt is.
I feel like the people who are tweeting at me that I should have made better decisions as a 17 year old should make themselves useful, build a time machine, and show up at my high school to tell me that.
A common response here: "The majority of student debt is owned by the rich." 1. They aren't THAT rich if they needed loans instead of mom and dad paying for school. 2. Even if you have a high income, if you are spending half of it on your loans, you're still not rich.
