first off, you may be tempted to have a lot of tags to be able to get out there more people, but that's actually not true. Twitter suppresses over-hashtagging, and while it seems good at first it will not help. here's an article abt tags! https://business.twitter.com/en/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-hashtags.html
So how do you create a follow? here are some ways ^-^
- Join "draw this in your style" events!
This is a good way to get your art out to a big audience, and it's mutual b/c the creator is getting art and youre getting free promotion. (cont.)

- Join popular artist hashtags!
when using hashtags you have to use them efficiently. getting on a popular up-and-coming artist hashtag is a great way to start a following!

- Artist shares!*
Artist shares are a great way to reach more people, it's the same idea as a dtiys but with less work and more promotion!
* i know they can get addicting, but once you get a bigger audience, this can get annoying to them depending on the frequency.

- Honestly? Just chatting and having a good time interacting with your fellow artist.
Promotion, while being good, can be exhausting. when youre constantly pumping out work you also need to relax and just chat with other artists! this is less of a tip and more of life advice hah

also, the best advice I've ever gotten is "focus on catering to your audience right now, not for the audience in the future" keep that in mind
