The All “A” Classic may not be all dead. The @kentuckyalla board is considering a proposal that would allow the boys and girls tournaments, which were canceled Tuesday, to be played at various sites between now and Feb. 27. (1/7)
The All “A” board has sent its proposal to qualifying girls and boys schools to gauge their interest in playing and will consider schools' responses before making a decision. (2/7)
Teams from consecutively numbered regions would be paired for first-round games at local sites (1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4 and so on), with home teams determined by RPI ranking unless teams agree on a neutral site. (3/7)
Under the plan, @DHSLadyAdsBBall would host 11th Region champion Berea in the first round. First-round games would have to be completed by Sunday night. Any school that chooses not to play or is unable to play by the scheduled date due to quarantine/isolation would forfeit. (4/7)
Quarterfinal games would be played within groups of consecutive regions (ex.: 9-10 winner vs. 11-12 winner) using the same process and would have to be completed by Feb. 24. (5/7)
The semifinals and finals would be played Feb. 26-27 at a central location if one can be found (schools would pay for their own travel expenses) or at local sites if not. (6/7)
All host schools would be required to follow local health department guidance and the usual COVID-19 protocols concerning attendance. Any proceeds from games at local sites above the cost of officials and game management would go to the All “A.” (7/7)
