Why is my talk for #LTDX21 entitled "Scream, Shout... and Breathe"?

Because I want to directly address the bad practice we see in the L&D space as a result of Covid-19.
The Lift and Shift approach - we'll just move what we did in person to virtual, and not change anything. It was a 3 day programme, it can still be a 3 day programme. We'll still follow a schedule and calendar to deliver training.
Trainers waiting for lockdown to end - cos it's not clear enough already that virtual delivery isn't going anywhere, and requires upskilling if you haven't done it before.
Trainers who became virtual trainers overnight - OH MY GOD. Where were your expert virtual skills before the pandemic, Brian? And they still bemoan how bad the format is.
L&D becoming wellbeing experts - are you kidding me? Psychologists and researchers spend years of their lives learning about this stuff but L&D cracked it in 2 months?
Digital content? What digital content? It's like the advent of smartphones and YouTube never happened.

Dismissing great online collaboration tools - because of the myth that collaboration only happens well in-person, or on a six hour virtual call.
I'll be sharing the results of the "Impact of Covid on L&D" study I carried out, and how L&D can show leadership at these times.
