"WE DEMAND AN AUDIT of the TIF PROGRAM". Remember that? In 2019 City Council promised an audit of the TIF program, promises made on more accountability and transparency to taxpayers when they passed - by Emergency - the creation of 15 new TIF Districts. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2021/02/17/cincinnati-real-estate-property-values-jump-latest-auditor-appraisals/4263240001/
I called out the game then, that the rush for passage was so they could CAPTURE these increased valuations into the newly-formed TIF District fund accounts.
While this article doesn't mention it, we deserve to know how these 15 new TIF Districts will impact/use the increased tax income created by the higher valuations?
Who gets to decide on where and how this newfound, largely unrestricted boon is spent in our neighborhoods? Community Councils are largely bypassed or outright ignored in any decision-making. They Mayor said: "Your opinion doesn't really matter" to neighborhood council leaders.
Enough is Enough. We deserve to know how our jacked-up tax bills are going to be spent at City Hall. I am AGAIN, calling for a full audit! #VoteDillingham and you WILL get the truth about your tax dollars that you deserve.
