Racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia seek to remove power from people based on who they are. Free software seeks to empower people regardless of who they are. We don't achieve free software's goals while tolerating intolerance.
Sadly, it doesn't take much effort to find that many of our community spaces tolerate intolerance. Community leaders need to push back on that, and we need to stop enabling the ones who don't (hi @phoronix and @RoySchestowitz)
(Depressing true story: I've spoken to people who are unwilling to criticise Phoronix because having their work mentioned there is a positive for performance reviews, and @michaellarabel has demonstrated willingness to ignore work produced by critics)
