This old post details the effects of omega-3 fatty acids on reducing aggression and improving skin quality. There's something I left out though: I think you can spot people with high omega-3 levels using cues from their personality, voice, and skin https://twitter.com/crimkadid/status/1265305840162082816
The highest levels of omega-3 fatty acids are found in fish consuming populations like the Japanese and Norwegians. In these people you see a distinctive combination of ultra-low homicide rates and skin which seems to magically reflect light: Scandinavians don't much sunburn.
The Japanese must have the best looking skin the world, but I think this is a bit concealed by their darker coloring. Every now and again you’ll see a half white Japanese person with skin so reflective and amazing it interferes with the photo
An contention I made in the original tweets was that people who have been consuming lots of fish for centuries have adapted to better utilize it; even in America assimilated Japanese and Norwegians retain the glow. E.g. this is Norwegian American sprinter Carrie Tollefson:
I grew up deep in the Norwegian ghetto of rural Minnesota. About once a year I would spot a girl whose skin glowed so much I had to stop myself from staring. And these girls were similar in other ways: their facial expressions were glacially slow; their voices vibrated calmingly
They seemed to hear everything with a second’s delay, their general attitude was deferential: always waiting for you to speak first, listening as though you were Christ delivering the Sermon on the Mount. And it was consistent, once you saw it once you saw it again and again.
There are certain people, in other words for whom omega-3 status is the dominant element of the personality: when you ask friends to describe them they are really describing anyone with the old fishblood.
I can think of one Hollywood actor who I’m very confident is bursting with omega-3s. See if you can guess: he has a clear, calming voice. He sometimes plays childishly naive characters, other times heroes. His skin is immaculate. He's 1/4th Hawaiian.
When I first saw Keanu Reeves in the Matrix I thought: “God he looks so Japanese, is he?” He’s not, but what I was responding to was the skin. Keanu looks and acts like an angel:
I really need to hammer home the voice: to get a feel for what I'm describing listen to Jemaine Clement, like Keanu part Polynesian::
Or the glowy, half Swedish Val Kilmer, who here does the voice of both Moses and God. If you’re casting director looking for a supreme hero, a messiah, this is the voice you want:
The pride that people feel in their race is masculine and rooted in violence: people feel proud to be descended from warriors, criminals, and wild savages. No one feels much pride to be part of a people known for kindness, so Scandinavians play up the Vikings, Japs the Samurai.
